Wolf's 19th Annual Bastille Day A-Go-Go!

With Shaun Wolf Wortis & the Legendary Vudu Krewe

Precinct

70 Union Square Somerville, MA

What could be better than celebrating French independence from, er, other French people, but a night of New Orleans Rhythm & Blues music PLUS a set of the incomparable Serge Gainsbourg?

The Bastille Day A-Go-Go returns to Precinct on July 14, 2012.

Press release:

At almost two decades strong Wolf's Annual Bastille Day A-Go-Go is a showcase of both the quirky and seductive R&B from 1950's New Orleans, and of the diversity of the Boston rock scene. Indeed, specials guests of Wolf's Bastille Day A-Go-Gos and Mardi Gras Balls read like a who's-who of Boston rock (including everyone from Tanya Donelly to Gary Cherone; Holly Brewer to Barrance Whitfield; and Casey Desmond to Willie Loco Alexander).

This year Shaun Wolf Wortis leads his Legendary Vudu Krewe through a night of New Orleans Rhythm and Blues and a special set of the music of Serge Gainsbourg.

Wortis: "We've covered Gainsbourg in the past but as my facination with him has grown I thought this Bastille Day might be a good time for a tribute set. For me, nobody represents the promise of ragtag freedom that Bastille Day is supposed to represent, as Serge Gainsbourg does."

The show is at Precinct in Union Square Somerville.
